Chapter 1 was a very informative chapter to read. It discuss about why to believe in children and what we believe as teachers influences decisions on how we teach. Sometimes we don't realize on how we behave can and will affect the children and that is totally true. For example if I had a student who was struggling with reading and I didn't provide many opportunities this student may not want to engage in reading because it may be boring to him. We as teachers need to know about good books and hgow to use them. The chapter also discuss about how to plan for living literature.
As far as the childrens literature author search I found many website helpful, such as
www.harpercollinschildrens.com and this is the author William Joyce who helped with creating the movie "Meet The Robinsons" and "Rolie Polie Olie". Rolie Polie Olie is one of the cutest shows with the cutest characters and thats one reason it draws childrens attention. The characters move in a robot motion with clicking sounds and gadgets on their bodies.
Another website is: www.aghines.com and this websites is very helpful it has links about "reading to kids","articles and talks", and "about her books". The author I like best is William Joyce.
