When I think of Poetry I think of rhyming or a story with creative words. When I think of poetry, I think of the lenght about a page long with one picture, representing the whole piece of poetry. The chapter teaches you how to bring children and poetry together. One of the most aspects of sound on poetry for children is rhyme. Rhyming provides connection with words and sometimes a musical effect. The other aspect to teach children about poems is the rhythm. Some children naturally respond to rhythm. Poets write poems for children in a forward organization so children can follow the rhythm. Poems also have shape. Poems can be written with all capital letters, as a latter, from left to right and etc. Shape affects how you read a poem, defining the rhythm as well as the speed at which the poem unfolds.
Children sh

ould not be drilled on how to write poem or to memorize them. When children are drilled with poems it make it too complex. Children should write their own thoughts about a poem and they should come invent their own style and shape of poem.
