What is fiction? Fiction to me is love stories. When I read about love stories, I tend to think about my own life experiences. Fiction is a story. The different types of fiction that are used with children are contemporary realistic fiction, historical fiction, fantasy, and science fiction. In historical fiction children can vicariously live the issues, actions and emotions of people in previous generations. During this time I can imagine how studnets tend to think back about their parents and grand parents. This is great opportunity for the teacher to combine culture and fiction.

  1. I picked the same book! :) (BEACH) I used this book because of my lesson plan in Dr. Harris' class. My topic is oceans and I think that this book would be perfect to read to my students.
